JEFFERSON CITY | Sen. Matt Bartle’s eight-year quest to crack down on strip clubs and adult bookstores finally succeeded Thursday night.

The Missouri Senate voted 27-4 to ban full nudity and prohibit adult businesses from selling alcohol. The clubs also would have to close between midnight and 6 a.m.

“Most human beings understand that if you mix alcohol and women dancing in the nude, that’s a tough combo,” said Bartle, a Lee’s Summit Republican. “Bad things happen.”

Piracy is hurting the bottom line of the adult entertainment industry, according to a new public-address video starring porn stars.

The Adult Entertainment Trade Association, a branch of the Free Speech Coalition, says DVD sales are down at least a third because of DVD counterfeiting and so-called internet “tube” porn sites that sometimes infect viewers’ computers with malware and spyware. Credible piracy figures are not available, as the porn business is run largely by private companies, the coalition says.

Iceland is fast becoming a world-leader in feminism. A country with a tiny population of 320,000, it is on the brink of achieving what many considered to be impossible: closing down its sex industry.

While activists in Britain battle on in an attempt to regulate lapdance clubs – the number of which has been growing at an alarming rate during the last decade – Iceland has passed a law that will result in every strip club in the country being shut down. And forget hiring a topless waitress in an attempt to get around the bar: the law, which was passed with no votes against and only two abstentions, will make it illegal for any business to profit from the nudity of its employees.

Even more impressive: the Nordic state is the first country in the world to ban stripping and lapdancing for feminist, rather than religious, reasons. Kolbrún Halldórsdóttir, the politician who first proposed the ban, firmly told the national press on Wednesday: “It is not acceptable that women or people in general are a product to be sold.” When I asked her if she thinks Iceland has become the greatest feminist country in the world, she replied: “It is certainly up there. Mainly as a result of the feminist groups putting pressure on parliamentarians. These women work 24 hours a day, seven days a week with their campaigns and it eventually filters down to all of society.”

SAN FRANCISCO — The adult-entertainment industry is in a tailspin, shattering the notion that it is one of the few recession-proof industries.

The slump is especially stinging because technology — which helped adult-entertainment enterprises reap riches through innovations such as video streaming, webcameras and online payments — is contributing to the misery.

DVDs and online pay sites, which make up the majority of porn-related sales, are in a free fall largely because of the rise of so-called tube sites.

The first 3D TV sets are not set to hit stores until midyear but the porn industry is already shooting and selling immersive 3D films.

Adult movie makers are known for being technology pioneers, having helped drive the adoption of previous new technologies such as VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, the internet and high-definition.

BadGirls in 3D, an exhibitor at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, is so early with its adoption of 3D that it is selling a $US3999 ($4320) kit that includes a Mitsubishi 60-inch 3DTV, two pairs of 3D glasses and a tiny PC that is used to stream the 3D films from the web.

The world’s “first” X-rated fembot literally has no moves Video

By Tracy Clark-Flory

Meet Roxxxy, the “world’s first sex robot.” She has folks buzzing with excitement after her debut at this weekend’s Adult Entertainment Expo (never mind that she isn’t actually the first of her kind). Given the hype, and the use of the term “robot,” you might be envisioning something along the lines of a Real Doll that can actually perform sexy moves — or at the very least do “The Robot.” In reality, she’s more like an X-rated version of Talking Elmo. She can’t walk or move her arms, but when you touch Roxxxy she will purr things like, ” Where you gonna put that?” As creator Douglas Hines demonstrated at the event (video below), clumsily groping at her vagina will elicit a moan; meanwhile, she remains paralyzed in her pre-programed ecstasy.

As it turns out, men are pretty much hard-wired to like watching — or reading about — other people having sex. Here’s why they do it — and why it’s probably ok.

Most nights, after his wife, Kate, had gone to bed, Tom surfed the Internet for porn. Kate learned about this during their second session of couples therapy. Despite Tom’s claims that his nocturnal habit had nothing to do with their love life, she worried he preferred porn to having sex with her.

That’s a common reaction. “Often, one partner has a porn interest, and the other thinks that’s a problem,” says Russell Stambaugh, PhD, an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based psychologist and sex therapist. “It rarely is. The best studies suggest that only about 5% of porn users have a problem that interferes with their daily life.”

That’s good news, because a lot of people look at porn. According to the May 2004 Tracking Survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, 26% of male Internet users visited adult websites (only 3% of women went to these sites). In 2006, the porn industry raked in nearly 13 billion dollars.

( News release: VAN NUYS, CA ) – Teravision is thrilled to announce the signing of its newest contract star, Lupe Fuentes. The stunning Spanish siren has made a name for herself as a mainstream model and internet phenomenon. Already an international star in her own right, she is ready to take on the adult industry in a whole new way. Previously known as “Little Lupe,” she made herself a teen model sensation, but is now all grown up and ready to take her career to a whole new level.

“I am still relatively new to the business,” admits Lupe. “And I wanted to be associated with the number one star in the industry Tera Patrick. I want people to see that I am grown up and ready to be a glamour girl. I have been quite successful in my home country and like Tera have had a lot of mainstream success. I am a very sexual girl and I am ready to shine like a star.”

Teravison has big plans for Lupe and will begin shooting her first movie for the company later this month. Her debut for the company will be called “Innocence Lost” and will be directed by award-winning director Eli Cross. His previous movies, “Corruption”, “Upload” and “Icon” have collected 18 AVN Awards and he has high expectations for both Lupe and “Innocence Lost.”

“I’m thrilled to be working with Teravision,” says Cross. “Tera & Evan have put together one of the top companies in the business and I know we can do some really great things together.” He continues with high praise for Teravision’s new contract star. “I am very excited to direct Lupe’s first movie, she is incredibly hot and has amazing sexual charisma. Lupe is so bright and shiny and new, I can’t wait to make her do a lot of really dirty things.”

Lupe FuentesTera is more than excited to have Lupe on board. “When I first laid eyes on Lupe she took my breath away,” Tera says of Lupe. “She is the epitome of the petite, exotic sex kitten that men dream of. When I met her she stole my heart. Her mix of elegance and innocence bring something unique to the table. We here at Teravision expect great things from Lupe.”

Dan Davis, Editor of Genesis magazine has his praise for Lupe as well. “Lupe is nothing short of drop-dead gorgeous and like the rest of the world, we can’t wait to see this girl captured by the Teravision cameras in action. We know she’ll fit into their ‘glamcore’ mold perfectly.”

Teravision is currently designing a new web site for her, http://www.lupefuentes.com/ and is in pre-production for her first three movies, “Innocence Lost”, an interactive title directed by Axel Braun and a third project to be announced later. The first movie will hit stores in September and will coincide with the launch of her totally redesigned website.

For mainstream and print work, Lupe can be contacted through LA Direct Models.

Having studied sexual fetishes for twenty years (which is itself a kind of fetish), I’m long past the investigation of shoes, pain, vomit and rubbing up against people on the subway. My first real job out of college was working as the circulation manager for the Spectator, a Bay Area adult-entertainment publication, which was fueled by classified advertising — often for very distinctive “services” and interests. While there, I became acquainted with a number of memorable characters: Peg Leg, a one-legged call girl with a very full dance ticket (and some remarkable prosthetic attachments); The Coach (gym shorts, silver whistle, clipboard); and a sexually ambiguous individual who just called him/herself “The Sneezer.” (I’ll let you use your imagination there.)

I’d been given a peek into a secret world, which eventually inspired a full-fledged research effort into fetishes. Having collected so many delightful anomalies over the years, I’d feel almost cruel not to share them. Here are my ten favorites.

Playboy Enterprises Inc. said Monday it is considering reducing the circulation of its namesake magazine, cutting its frequency and raising prices as it copes with the erosion of its print audience and advertising dragging down the adult-entertainment company.

The possible moves come as Playboy posted a net loss of $13.7 million, or 41 cents per share, for the first quarter, compared to a net loss of $4.2 million, or 13 cents per share, a year earlier. The latest results included $8.7 million in impairment and restructuring charges.Jerome Kern, Playboy’s interim chairman and chief executive officer since Christie Hefner stepped down at the end of last year, said in a conference call with analysts that while the magazine is important to the company’s image and brand, “it is clear that this company cannot continue to sustain significant losses in a business that now comprises less than one quarter of the company’s revenue base.”

Playboy is exploring what Mr. Kern described as “radical” changes to the magazine, including its 2.6 million guaranteed circulation. In addition, Playboy this summer will combine its July and August issues to save money on printing and distribution, a move it says could be a precursor to a permanent curtailing of frequency.
