The trials of John Edwards continue. Literally and figuratively. Today’s newscycle is such that Edwards debacles may seem like a bit of a distant memory, but the philandering former Presidential candidate is still in court tangling over access to the sex tape he allegedly made with Rielle Hunter, his former mistress and mother of his child.

Well, I hope you all got your fill of the “McSteamy” sex tape over at Gawker because it ain’t there any more. For those of you who aren’t down on your TV star threeway knowledge, the infamous tape featured Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, his wife and star of Dead Like Me and a bunch of other things I don’t like as much, Rebecca Gayheart, and “beauty-queen-turned-Hollywood-madam” Kari Ann Peniche in some decidedly NSFW action and garnered all sorts of traffic for Gawker and some of its sister sites. After a lengthy court battle, Gawker has finally relented and taken the video down. Damn! Now we’ll have to settle for one of the millions of other C-list sex tapes out there!

But sometimes the temple is marked with temptation. Last month, a video cropped up reportedly showing the popular Swami Paramahamsa Nithyananda and South Indian actress Ranjitha in flagrante delicto. It’s as though Billy Graham were caught with his pants down (or like Jim Bakker minus the imprisonment*). The uproar has been audible: Indian TV stations broadcast the tape in Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, and Tamil; reporters scrambled to interview police to learn more about the origins of the tape and uncover leads to the actress involved. Nine protesters from an angry crowd were arrested outside of Bangalore for vandalizing Nithyananda’s ashram, Dhyanapeetam.

Sex sells. I’ve sold it for the past eight years and lived comfortably doing so. Being a porn star paid my bills, and the validation that comes with being a sex icon is like a line of blow after too many jack and cokes: it kept me up, kept me going. So it makes perfect sense that when I’d be out and about, living it up in the SFV’s hottest clubs (ha) and trendiest bars, I would act like a porn star. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out why these beautiful, rich, heiress/famous for being famous women choose to act like Chatsworth’s finest. Why do some take it that final step by releasing a sex tape, thus making them actual porn stars?
I asked my good buddy, Kevin Blatt — Sex Tape Broker to the stars — figuring that he’s dealt with some of these girls before. Kevin is the guy behind Paris‘ sex tape, but don’t get your panties in a twist. He’s done plenty of good for the stars as well, there are at least “17 other tapes that you didn’t hear about … and why?”

Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California USA who became a darling among conservatives when she refused to support same-sex marriage during the Miss USA Pageant, went on Sean Hannity‘s show tonight to promote her book and confirm TMZ’s report that she made some kind of sex tape when she was a teenager.
Making the tape was the “worst mistake of my life,” Prejean repeatedly said. “I was all by myself. I was sending my boyfriend at the time, who I loved and cared about, you know, video of me. I was a teenager at the time and never did I ever think it would come out.”
Prejean told Hannity that she is “taking total responsibility for it.”

Former Miss California runner-up, Carrie Prejean had her day in court yesterday, though it didn’t turn out quite the way she had hoped. The Beauty Pageant almost Queen was suing the Miss California Pageant officials for a litany of charges including public ridicule, anxiety, depression and loss of sleep stemming from the official’s handling of her career.
Everything was going fine until the defendants started playing an extremely graphic homemade sex tape starring none other than Miss Prejean, herself.
It’s been reported that it only took about fifteen seconds of playing the tape before Prejean decided to drop her lawsuit. If all litigation could only end so quickly.
