Brilliantly recreated in the vein of the 1980s classic John Hughes comedy, The Breakfast Club: A XXX Parody combines some sizzling sex scenes, a funny script and terrific porn acting and is another feather in the widening cap of director Lee Roy Myers. Working from a playful screenplay by T.T. Frye, the story of a bunch of college students who get detention (and they deal with the anomaly of college students getting detention right away in funny fashion) and form bonds, sexual and otherwise, is perfect fodder for an adult parody.

Porn star Mika Kayama is at the frontier of a push to develop videos and content in Japan that Sony Corp. and Panasonic Corp. need to lure customers for their new 3-D televisions.

Kayama and Yuma Asami, the top actresses of adult-movie maker S1 No.1Style, will star in the country’s first DVDs for the 3-D format TVs, providing content analyst Yuji Fujimori says can trigger the success of the new sets. Sales of adult videos in Japan were 108.6 billion yen ($1.2 billion) in 2009, according to Takashi Kadokura, an economist who runs Yokohama- based BRICs Research Institute. That represents about 30 percent of the overall video market in the nation, according to Kadokura.

The organisers of the Cannes festival have a habit each year of selecting one film with unusually explicit sexual or violent content. Last year Lars von Trier‘s Antichrist caused outrage with its portrayal of sadistic and masochistic acts, and in 2004 the British director Michael Winterbottom shocked audiences with his erotic romance, 9 Songs. Two years earlier Gaspar Noé pushed back the boundaries at the festival with Irréversible, which featured a prolonged rape scene. This year, in contrast, the festival is accused of deliberately keeping the most provocative French film of the season out of all its selected screenings.

The outrageous new film Kick-Ass ventures into uncharted four-letter-word territory, from the mouth of an 11-year-old girl—and it’s causing a stir.

Larry David and Jane Fonda have blurted it out. Ian McEwan’s written it (in his novel Atonement). Henry Miller’s been banned for it. And now Hit Girl, the scene-stealing star of the new anti-superhero/superhero film Kick-Ass, is hurling it.
