You could be hearing Isaac Asimov and Douglas Adams in a whole new way, if you happen to be in New York on March 5. The Pinchbottom Burlesque is organizing “Naked Girls Reading Science Fiction.” (NSFW pic below the fold.)
The event takes place at “the plush and decadent upstairs lounge at Madame X in Greenwich Village,” and costs $25. Among the readers is Nasty Canasta, who has been known to dress up as a naughty version of both the fourth and tenth Doctors from Doctor Who. Sunny Leone packs February schedule

Sunny’s busy February kicked off on February 3rd when she joined rock legend Dave Navarro on his radio show on www.spreadradiolive.com

“Dave and I have a great rapport,” says Sunny. “This was the first time I have been on his show, but we get along very well. The conversation flows so naturally. So much has happened since the last time we spoke. I couldn’t wait to catch, Dave and his listeners, up on all of the amazing things going on in my life and career.”
Sunny’s busy month continues when she heads down to Miami for Super Bowl Weekend. She will be enjoying the incredible nightlife including a fantastic event at Tootsies Cabaret in Miami. Sunny will join other Vivid hotties Savanna Samson, AJ Bailey and Monique Alexander on Friday February 5th from 10pm to 2am for the hottest party in the city.
Heading home, Sunny will appear on Playboy Radio’s Night Calls with Christy Canyon and Nicki Hunter on February 8th at 4:30pm. Among the topics being discussed will be Sunny’s huge hosting gig two nights later. On February 10th, she will host the 2010 XBiz Awards in Hollywood.
“It is a great honor to be hosting the XBiz Awards,” Sunny states. “It is going to be a spectacular celebration of the very best our industry has to offer. We have some sexy surprises in store for everyone in attendance to make sure it will be a night to remember.”
It will also be a busy month shooting for Sunny both behind the camera and in front of it. SunLust Pictures will shoot a half dozen new productions including two new volumes of “Pussy Eating Club” and a special all-girl movie that features Sunny in all six scenes.
Sunny will finish her busy month by shooting three live shows for Naughty America on February 17th. Watch Sunny as she performs a trio of sexy solo shows as a horny gym teacher, naughty nurse and sultry secretary.
Then from February 18-20 Sunny will shoot her most ambitious project to date. “Gia” is the stranger-than-fiction story of the biggest star in the history of adult films. It features cameos from living legends and luminaries from the industry.
“We are really proud of Gia,” gushes Sunny. “It is a great movie with a fantastic cast. At SunLust Pictures we always want to challenge ourselves. Gia is something new for us and I think the fans will love the results.”
With so much on her plate for February Sunny may need a few days off to recover, but she will be right back at it with an already busy month scheduled for March.

Porn Industry Suffers in Economic Downturn – DailyFinance

At the Adult Entertainment Expo four years ago this month, I passed through the security checkpoint at The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas — and was struck by the sheer volume of people. The porn industry’s annual convention had packed more than 30,000 attendees into two exhibit halls. It was nearly impossible to move around, or have a conversation, let alone interview a company executive. But as I pushed through the crowded aisles between elaborate displays, I could feel the energy pulsing through the room.
This conference, held every year concurrently with the Consumer Electronics Show, is where the adult-entertainment industry goes to work: cutting deals, announcing new talent and products, and setting the tone for an exciting and lucrative new year — not to mention fueling their adrenaline and desires with alcohol and blackjack.
A Quick Decline
In 2006, porn was reaching new heights. DVD sales had hit nearly $4.3 billion for the year just ended, according to Adult Video News; online was good for another $1.5 billion (and hadn’t begun to cannibalize video sales yet). But two years later, AEE was almost unimaginably different. Despite the increased elbow room, the conference had both a smaller crowd and fewer exhibitors. A few major players, like Penthouse, skipped out on what had always been the industry’s biggest event of the year.

Our world is already way more bizarre than our ancestors could have ever imagined. But it may not be bizarre enough. “Bizarre enough for what?” — you might ask. Bizarre enough to subvert the heterosexist matrix that is underlying our world and that we should hack and overcome for some quite pressing reasons within the next century.

At least one event might make one wonder just how far the arts establishment will go to be “transgressive” and “shocking.”Attendees can choose from numerous mediums and genres including music, comedy, film, dance, theater, visual and literary arts. There are 18 literary events, 15 visual arts events, 36 comedy events, 9 dance and performance art pieces, 25 films, and 12 theater performances. This tally does not count what is happening in the Market or events wedged into the “Spectacle” category.The festival might have something for everyone, including porn aficionados.Among the literary events is artist Zak Smith, who stars in adult films when he isn’t making art inspired by adult films Mr. Smith is promoting “[h]is latest book, We Did Porn.” This work “follows Smith from the New York art scene to Los Angeles’s seedy world of alt porn. Through memoir and drawings, Smith narrates his foray into pornography and gives his readers a new understanding of the industry.”
