Does God want you to masturbate?

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, masturbation is “intrinsically and gravely disordered.” That’s because “sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes.” If you aren’t making babies, you can’t play with the equipment.

But what if playing with the equipment helps you make babies?

Research made public last week suggests precisely that. In a paper presented to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, Dr. David Greening, an Australian infertility expert, reports that 81 percent of the men in his study significantly improved their sperm quality, as measured by DNA fragmentation, through a simple one-week program.

Hurt by a flagging economy and changes in technology, the adult film industry is making fewer feature-length narrative movies in favor of shorter, Internet-ready “vignettes,” according to a July 7 New York Times article. Is writing a porno feature different from writing a regular feature?

Yes. For one thing, the scripts are a lot shorter. Whereas Hollywood screenplays generally run between 90 and 120 pages, porn scripts clock in at 25 to 28 pages, for obvious reasons. Your average 90-minute porn film will have between five and seven sex scenes. At five to 10 minutes each, that leaves only about a half-hour for dialogue. As a result, there’s not as much room for character development, plot, surprise endings, and all the other dramatic elements you associate with feature films.

Porn writers also get paid a lot less. Whereas Hollywood screenplays sell for anywhere from a few hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, pay for porn scripts for even big productions generally caps out at around $1,000. (Writers unions don’t accept porn writers unless they also work on mainstream film and TV projects.) And since adult films usually have low budgets—a few thousand dollars—writers can’t compose scenes that would be expensive to shoot, like fighting sequences atop a moving train. They try to limit the action to the rooms of a house—bedroom, bathroom, kitchen.

WELLINGTON (AFP) — A porn entrepreneur has vowed to go ahead with his annual “Boobs on Bikes” parade of topless women in Auckland, despite financial woes and the opposition of the city’s mayor.

Fairfax newspapers reported Steve Crow had said the annual parade, held since 2003 down the main street of New Zealand‘s largest city, would go ahead on September 23 to advertise his erotica show. The group did not quote him directly.

Two of Crow’s companies have gone into liquidation at his request after earlier shows in the capital Wellington and the southern city of Christchurch lost money.

Myrtle Beach police have charged eight people — including some UNCSA students — with filming sex acts near the Myrtle Beach pier on Second Avenue.

On July 1, officers patrolling the area around 200 North Ocean Blvd. responded to a report of indecent exposure on the beach.

TAIPEI (AFP) — Sex workers in Taiwan have cautiously welcomed a government plan to legalise prostitution, but the scheme is being opposed by an alliance of women’s groups who fear it will breed crime and violence.

A red-light area similar to Amsterdam‘s famed canalside sex-for-sale district has been proposed for the capital Taipei, with legal and zoning measures due in place within six months.

Prostitutes and their supporters say they see a ray of hope after many years of campaigning for legalisation to protect them from both customers and police, but some are concerned about being moved into special zones.

Boulder’s Dan Kennedy wants to open a coffee shop — but instead of competing with the likes of Starbucks by offering specialty drinks, he wants to steam up basic coffee and pre-packaged pastries with topless waitresses.

He’s looking to open a shop in August, one day a week in the morning.

Kennedy — who said he will be a sophomore at the University of Colorado in the fall after transferring from Whitman College in Washington — has placed ads on Craigslist for bouncers and women willing to work topless, saying he’s interviewing three women and three potential bouncers Friday. He’s offering to pay the women $80 to $100 for a morning.

An Ohio pastor has won a lawsuit filed by an adult entertainment club against him and part of his congregation.

Several years ago, Pastor William Dunfee of New Beginnings Ministries in New Castle started demonstrating in front of the “Foxhole” strip club. City attorney Tom Condit represented the church.

“They had signs and they would try to persuade men to not patronize the place. They would try to persuade the girls who danced there not to work there,” he notes, “and they just did the best they could to ideally shut the place down — make it go out of business.”

I have found the Holy Grail of lesbian dirty movies. I have read that you (like me) are more attracted to straight and bisexual women than to lesbians. Almost three-quarters of South Korean male office workers feel uncomfortable when female colleagues show too much leg or cleavage in the workplace, a survey has revealed. A poll of 1,254 employees by the job portal site CareerNet found that 74 percent of men felt upset with the attire of their female co-workers.
