A recent New York Times article describes the way the internet is changing porn, which (as it wryly notes) “has long had only a casual interest in plot and dialogue.” That interest has grown so casual as to be disappearing entirely, leaving actresses like Ms. Samson longing for the days of “character development,” when she used to “prepare studiously” for roles such as that of a psychotic exhibitionist in the 2006 film “Flasher”. Now that most porn is consumed online, short scenes consisting almost entirely of just sex are becoming the norm.

“On the Internet, the average attention span is three to five minutes,” said Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment. “We have to cater to that.” (NYT article)

JULY 29–In a setback to her nascent U.S. Senate campaign porn star Stormy Daniels real name Stephanie Clifford was arrested Saturday afternoon for domestic violence after she allegedly battered her husband because she was “upset because the way the laundry had been done.” Clifford who has said she is interested in challenging Republican David Vitter next year for his Senate seat from Louisiana was nabbed for striking her husband “Michael on his head with her hands several times ” according to a Tampa Bay Police Department report. Clifford 30 told cops that she did not intentionally hit her husband but acknowledged tossing a potted plant in the kitchen sink throwing the couple s wedding album on the floor and breaking some candles.

Nora Baumberger, a 39-year-old former porn star known as Dolly Buster, wants the good people of Wesel, Germany, to know that she did not intend to become a candidate for the city council elections.

She said that she signed documents for an independent voting alliance known as the UWW because they were trying to gather members. Baumberger said that she did not know those papers nominated her as a candidate.

Baumberger said that she has tried to establish herself as a serious artist since giving up porn. Apparently, she is afraid that being labeled a politician will smear her reputation.

MIAMI – A town manager who married a porn star last year was fired at an emergency meeting after the mayor and council members learned about it.

Fort Myers Beach town council voted 5-0 to fire Scott Janke “without cause” after Mayor Larry Kiker called the Tuesday night meeting.

Kiker said he learned that afternoon that Janke’s wife is an adult film star, and the elected officials took the action a few hours later.
