Chip Hanlon: This Playboy Article Deserves Scorn from the Left

Today’s headlines are filled with outrage over the weekend shooting death of Kansas abortion doctor, George Tiller — and righfully so, of course.
Many on the left are not only decrying the horrible incident, but are fairly calling on conservative Republican politicians and pro-life political groups to condemn this violent act; indeed, anyone who claims to be devoted to the rule of law must do precisely that.
Similarly, those dedicated to the empowerment of women must express outrage at a new article from Playboy titled, “So Right it’s Wrong.” The lead paragraph from the article itself best sums up what this ignoble piece targeting ten Republican women is all about:

If you were to search the name Stormy Daniels on the Internet, your results would produce a large amount of adult themed Web sites bearing the actress and her namesake; thus, bringing you to the final conclusion that Stormy Daniels is a porn star.
In more recent times, the name Stormy Daniels has produced more results on the Internet with her name in political news rather than adult entertainment.
Several months ago, Daniels made headlines when she said that she would like to run against Republican Senator David Vitter in the 2010 senatorial elections, but it seemed vague at that point to conclude if she were to run against Vitter. However, on May 21, Daniels said she had formed an exploratory committee to “gauge Louisianans‘ support for my potential candidacy.”

Sexual Foreplay: What’s in It for Men?

Dates that end with lovemaking often begin with dining out, so that the meal itself can be seen as a form of sexual foreplay — in more ways than one. How many times has this happened to you: You take your woman out to dinner at a nice restaurant. The waiter takes your drink orders and tells you of the specials, a busboy brings you a choice of savory breads, and you get down to the business of perusing the menu. Your eye is on the right side of the page — steak? lobster? steak and lobster? — when your date announces, “I think I’ll just have a salad and a couple of appetizers.”
At this juncture you might say something like, “Are you crazy? You’ll be starving later!” But she insists she knows her appetite and enough of those little things make, for her, a full and satisfying meal.
So it is with sexual foreplay. A lot of men don’t think they’ve had sex unless they have had full-on sexual intercourse — the meat and potatoes of many men’s sex lives, if not the steak and lobster. Skeptical as they are of the nourishment value of the proverbial small plates, they tend to rush toward the entrée and insist they’re not really dining otherwise. They don’t see the value of sexual foreplay in lovemaking — the well-placed nibble and stroke, the suckle and bite — even if that is what women often want.

Maine topless coffee shop gutted by overnight fire – Yahoo! News

VASSALBORO, Maine – A deliberately set fire destroyed a topless coffee shop early Wednesday, just hours after the owner talked with local officials about making the business more like a strip club, investigators said.
The fire at the Grand View Topless Coffee Shop was reported just before 1 a.m. by an ambulance that happened to be driving past.
The state fire marshal’s office concluded it was arson after investigators, aided by a specially trained dog, sifted through the shop’s ruins. Officials would not say how or where the fire started, but said evidence was taken to the state police crime lab for analysis.

Yesterday, Playboy.com posted a provocative story: “So Right It’s Wrong.” The piece was written by Guy Cimbalo, and its premise was to target those conservative women that he would like to, as he put it, “hate fuck.” But if you click on that Playboy.com link, you’ll find the piece is no longer there. And that’s because the blogosphere went crazy after Playboy published it, going so far as to call for a boycott, and Playboy pulled it.
If you want to read the piece in full, conservative blogger Caleb Howe has reproduced it in a series of screenshots here. The piece begins thusly:
Obama promised us the dream of post-partisanship—a cuckoo land where party affiliation and factional animosity were forgotten. Turn on cable news or open any newspaper, however, and you’ll quickly discover that the dream has yet to materialize. But there is a way to reach across the aisle without letting principles fall by the wayside. We speak, naturally, of the hate fuck. We may despise everything these women represent, but goddammit they’re hot. Let the healing begin.
What follows isn’t, well, pretty. It’s a listicle that eviscerates every conservative female that crossed Cimbalo’s radar as someone who was at least in some regard physically attractive and yet whose personal politics he found to be utterly loathsome. The list includes Michelle Malkin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Laura Ingraham, and Peggy Noonan.
