MARY-Louise Parker is still sulking over her nude scene from last season’s “Weeds” finale.

She claims that she was “goaded” into doing a scene involving a lingering shot of her naked breasts while she was in a bathtub.

“I didn’t think I needed to be naked, and I fought with the director about it, and now I’m bitter,” the star of the Showtime series says in the June issue of More magazine.

This Week In Unnecessary Censorship (VIDEO)

Jimmy Kimmel is no fan of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the regulatory body in charge of policing the airwaves. So each week he does a segment called “This Week In Unnecessary Censorship,” that takes normal every day language and makes it seems lewd by bleeping out words or phrases. As a result everything from the Preakness, to “Jonny Quest” comes out dirty…and hilarious.

This week, Jimmy looked at Miss California’s true feelings for Donald Trump, a very special Mother’s Day celebration, and what sh*t can do for you. It’s all pretty disturbing for a Saturday morning.

BEIJING (AFP) – A sex theme park in southwest China that exhibits naked human sculptures, giant genitals and boasts a sex technique workshop is stirring up howls of protest, according to state press.

Love Land“, billed as China’s first-ever sex theme park, is slated to open in Chongqing municipality in October, but detractors hope the project will never see the light of day, the China Daily reported.

“We are building the park for the good of the public… to help adults enjoy a harmonious sex life,” the paper quoted park manager Lu Xiaoqing as saying.

The virginity fetish | Salon Life

Why is our culture so obsessed with girls’ chastity? Author Jessica Valenti talks about how purity balls and “barely legal” porn both feed the same idea: That a woman’s worth is between her legs.

May 16, 2009 | The world wants a piece of 22-year-old Natalie Dylan — and not because of her glossy pout, smoky eyes or heaving chest. It’s something far more coveted than beauty: her virginity. In a bold move that made headlines around the world this fall, Dylan put her purity on the auction block, promising Mr. Right Price a chance at deflowering her. The current high bid for this supposedly priceless commodity: $3.8 million.

That’s just a sideshow in pop culture’s chastity circus: Take 16-year-old “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus, who has publicly vowed to wait until marriage, or the raft of other tween idols — the Jonas Brothers, Disney’s Selena Gomez and “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks — who like to flash their silver purity rings for the cameras. Toss in the popularity of “barely legal” porn, purity balls and costly “hymen repair,” and you might start to wonder: What’s with the virginity fetish?

That’s the question Jessica Valenti, founder of Feministing.com, answers in “The Purity Myth: How America’s Obsession with Virginity Is Hurting Young Women.” As Valenti, the current poster girl for third-wave feminism, writes in her typically snarky tone: It’s not like we can just put our “Saran-wrapped hymens away in a freezer” or paste them “in a scrapbook.” (Well, we could, but who would want to?) Those types of, uh, vivid arguments are also found on her popular feminist Web site, which bears a logo of the classic mud-flap girl giving the finger. Mixing rude-girl slang with the academic jargon of a feminist textbook, the 30-year-old Rutgers University lecturer knows how to make feminism accessible to a young, apathetic audience: Her first book, “Full Frontal Feminism,” featured a generous heaping of the F-word (not the one found in the title) and a butt-naked lady on the cover.

Midwest Teen Sex Show
The Midwest Teen Sex Show: Image via Wikipedia

On Wednesday, Comedy Central announced its 2009-10 programming lineup. As Margaret Lyons at Entertainment Weekly notes, “It’s pretty standard CC: Dude shows, cartoons, cartoons about dudes, gettin’ high, stand-up stuff.” But there is one terribly exciting exception: The cable channel has greenlighted a TV version of the cult-favorite online series “Midwest Teen Sex Show“!

Despite its provocative title, this isn’t prime-time softcore. “Midwest Teen Sex Show” combines sketch comedy with useful sex information to hilarious effect. The raciest part of the show, as it currently exists, is the opening sequence, which features a girl in a bikini top and cargo pants posing in a corn field. Episodes have included “Porn,” ”Hook Ups,” “Backdoor Business” and a Halloween special called “The Green Tongue of HPV.” But my favorite has to be a recent installment on “Vaginas” (posted below), which dubs the lady parts “America’s true heroes” and includes a “Real World” parody featuring such cast members as Labia “Lips” Dugan and Clitoris “Tori” Philips. Make sure the high schooler in your life watches the most recent episode, “Prom,” which boasts the tag line, “Prom babies cry just as loud.”

Beyond its obvious entertainment value, “Midwest Teen Sex Show” has real potential to educate teens (especially those who don’t have comprehensive sex ed programs in school) and promote frank, intelligent discussion. The show’s deadpan host, Nikol Hasler, manages to painlessly pack each episode with useful information. In “Birth Control,” she introduces Depo-Provera: “Some people don’t like it because it’s a shot. But you’re trying to get poked anyway!” Her best line in “Vaginas”? “As for douches, would you date one? No. So don’t use them.”

P2P video startup Vuze quietly launched an adult video download service called Studio HD earlier this year. Studio HD offers an unlimited number of HD porn video downloads for a monthly fee that are subsequently facilitated through Vuze’s BitTorrent client. The company told me that Studio HD is a template for other premium services it plans to launch.

A premium adult outlet seems to be logical step for a company like Vuze, given the popularity of porn on P2P networks, but it’s also another indicator of how difficult it is to monetize P2P. Vuze has raised a total of $32 million in funding. Plans to sell rentals of major TV networks didn’t work out, and Vuze was forced to lay off 24 people last year as well as move out of its costly downtown Palo Alto, Calif., office space. And while Vuze (aka Azureus) used to be the most popular BitTorrent client, it has lost steam to competitors like uTorrent.

Studio HD is advertised alongside the “Sexy” video section of the Vuze content platform, which can be accessed from within the Vuze client. Users that click on such an ad are asked to verify their age, after which Studio HD is available as a second content destination within Vuze. The service offers its users “unlimited” downloads from a catalog of a few hundred HD clips for around $25 per month. Studio HD can only be accessed on three computers at a time, but the content itself is not DRM-protected.
