Speaking about his decision to cast porn star Sasha Grey in his call-girl movie The Girlfriend Experience, Steven Soderbergh said TV anchors look like porn stars these days. See if you can tell the difference!

Soderbergh told the Wall Street Journal that he didn’t expect much of a reaction by casting a world-famous porn star in his sex-free story of a Manhattan call girl, because:

“It’s so mainstream now…. When you look at people who are transmitting the news to you on television they all look like they’re in porn, the way they’re coiffed. It’s really crazy. There’s this like hyper-grooming thing going on now, men and women.

Nude photos of Rihanna, or what is supposedly Rihanna, are floating around the web.

Seven pictures being hosted by imagehaven.com show various body parts, including two close ups of what is clearly Rihanna’s face and a third photo of Rihanna head-to-knee reflected in a bathroom mirror with a message of “I love you” scrawled on it.

All seven shots seem to be self taken in the same white bathroom and bedroom area.

Consider us not shocked: Vivid Entertainment has offered Miss California Carrie Prejean $1 million to star in a pornographic film. Is this really just how it goes these days? Take a minor celebrity/overnight sensation and exploit their 15 minutes of fame by offering them a role in a porno? It sure seems that way.

Vivid offered Nadya “Octomom” Suleman $1 million to star in a porno, and full medical and dental insurance for her family if she agreed to perform sex acts for them on an ongoing basis. Kick Ass Films offered British singing sensation Susan Boyle $1 million to star as well. Last fall Porn producer Cezar Capone offered Sarah Palin $2 million to star in one of his “MILF” movies, plus an extra $100,000 and a snow machine if she did it with her husband Todd.

Do these production companies really think these women would be willing to get naked and have sex with stranger on camera for cash? Definitely not. But they do plan on exploiting the women and getting publicity. Sure, this nothing new for the porn industry, but it seems these types of offer are growing more and more frequent because they’re aware of the public desire. Who doesn’t love a sex scandal?

Missing persons alert: Slutty women have disappeared, last seen circa the “Sex and the City” era. The suspected loose lady-napper: Feminism. The evidence: Well, there isn’t really any evidence, per se, but author Stephen Marche has a strong hunch that women are closing their legs now that feminism has won them some real-world power. In an article for Esquire, he declares this nothing short of a “disaster for men.”

You might ask: Wasn’t it just yesterday that feminist or post-feminist or post-post-feminist females were supposedly slutting it up to the detriment of civil society? That women’s looseness was being blamed for limp dicks, “Darwinist dating,” male pigs and a return of medieval masculinity? Well, despite the article’s headline — “Where have all the loose women gone?” — it seems Marche isn’t talking about all women, but rather smart women. “Brilliant, funny, and powerful women are retreating from sex as never before,” he writes. (Leaving, what, only stupid sluts?)

The only woman he successfully uses to illustrate this thesis isn’t a real woman at all — she’s a TV character: “30 Rock‘s” Liz Lemon, played by Tina Fey. “The most complicated and intelligent woman in television comedy barely ever has sex,” he writes. Not only that, but her low libido is one of the show’s “running gags.” Uh, 1.) It’s a TV sitcom that uses parody for laughs, and 2.) Some women do in fact have low sex drives – so do some men.

According to legendary 19th century Russian playwright Anton Chekhov’s primary principle of drama, when two characters make a sex tape, it is an invariable conclusion that said sex tape will get accidentally sent to everyone they know. OK, yeah, Chekhov was actually talking about loaded guns, but when Steve (Brian Rabinowitz) convinces Katelynn (Beth O’Neill) to get intimate in front of their new digital camera in the first episode of Sexperts, you know this isn’t going to go well.

Developed and produced by the TV department of Columbia College Chicago (which offers a concentration in Internet and Mobile Media, if you’re considering a return to academia), Sexperts is so far a pretty tame sex comedy with a new twist on the sex tape reveal. Because as it turns out, the average small-town couple at the heart of this series is so amazing at sex that in subsequent episodes, the two of them become gurus for their orgasm-challenged friends, who only wish to learn from their example.

Unfortunately, in the first episode all we get is a taste of this premise, with the focus instead being put on Steve and Katelynn’s discovery that their private interlude has become much more public than anticipated, thanks to Steve mixing up his email attachments. How they discover this is also Sexperts‘ one big stab at innovation; when Katelynn installs Skype so they can video chat with other people in their small town, the couple finds out how far the tape has spread from their friends. Because their friends only need appear in the form of on-screen video, the producers were able to cast those roles from a geographically diverse range of YouTube celebrities, including Michael Buckley, Valentina of Val’s Art Diary, and Tony Huyin (thewinekone).

BALTIMORE, May 7 — Adolescents may be more likely to start having sex before age 14 because of adult-themed TV and movies they watched when they were young kids, it was reported here.However, the converse was not found to be true — having sex at an early age did not appear to make teens more avid consumers of shows aimed at adult audiences, according to a study led by Hernan Delgado, M.D., a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Previous research had suggested that adolescents exposed to sexual media content are more likely to get pregnant, Dr. Deglado told attendees at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting here.
